Our goal at Destiny Christian Preschool is to ensure our four and five-year-olds are ready for Kindergarten socially, emotionally, and academically. Our teachers provide opportunities for children to experiment with their growing need for freedom and independence in a safe setting. Knowing that children this age like to ask how and why questions, our teachers focus on classroom experiences that provide opportunities for children to explore and investigate. Academic instruction focuses on basic phonics using the Alphafriends program, proper writing techniques , writing letters and numbers, counting, sorting, and attention to detail in drawing. Children actively experience the awe and wonder of God’s creation as they learn He cares for them. They learn Bible lessons and memorize verses emphasizing God’s goodness, Jesus’ love for children, and the plan of salvation. Group activities that make each child feel important and worthwhile become essential experiences. Experiences in the Discovery Hangar classroom are designed to maximize the short amount of time children spend at school.
